Excursion Car 5
This 24-foot car was originally built by West Side Lumber Company around 1919 as a caboose on an existing log frame. They renumbered it WSLCo 5 in 1940, and after 1949 it served as a backup caboose. The car went into private ownership and then was acquired by the Northern Queen Inn in Nevada City, where they converted it first to a flatcar and then to an excursion car for their Nevada County Traction Company. A museum member bought it and leased it to SPCRR in 2016. SPCRR volunteers refurbished and painted it in 2018. SPCRR purchased it from the member in 2025. The car is used for scheduled passenger service.
